Matched
By: Ally Condie
The book I am reading is called Matched by Ally Condie It is about a seventeen year old girl named Cassie Reyes. In the book the government controls everyone's life life. Recently, Cassie just got matched ( who she gets married to)with a boy named Xander, her best friend, she was so certain that the government had chosen her correct match for her. Until she saw another familiar face, Ky flash on the screen before the screen turned black. Cassie still keeps her secret to herself and wonders if Xander is her true match.
This book reminds me of my life because my parents control everything I do. They control what I do, who I hang out with, what I have. This is just like Matched because where Cassie lives the government controls her, and everyone's life. I also wish I could make my own choices just like Cassie. Also, just like Cassie I my great grandma died so I went through the same feelings , actions, and sadness that Cassie is going through because her grandpa died.
I really like this book because Cassie is trying to decide on who she thinks and wants to be her true match. I don't really like how the Society decides when you die because I don' t think people should be forced to die. I thought that the author was smart on making the reader think that at first Cassie was so lucky that she got matched with her best friend and then making Cassie think she wasn't supposed to be matched with Xander. I am really like this book and recommend it to lot of people who like Science Fiction books.
