Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone - Text to self

                                                                     Text to Self

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, a book by J.K. Rowling, is about a boy named Harry Potter who has to live with his cruel relatives because his parents died in an accident. This was no ordinary accident, though, Harry's parents died when an evil wizard killed them, but Harry did not die when this wizard tried to kill him. In fact, Harry made this wizard weak instead of dying and making him stronger. This wizard is You-Know-Who, or also known as Voldemort and he was once one of the most powerful wizards ever, besides Dumbledore. Dumbledore is the head of the Hogwarts School For Wizards. Since Harry has been living with his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin, he did not know until recently in the book that he and his parents are wizards. He was told by a giant named Hagrid because Harry had to be found. Harry was hiding with his relatives in a hut on the beach, in a storm. They were in the hut because his uncle did not want Harry to be going to wizard school. So now, Harry and Hagrid are buying needed objects for Harry for him to be able to attend Hogwarts.
The character Dudley reminds me of my little sister because she is always throwing a fit if things do not go her way. So then, my mom gives in to her after trying to get her to stop and trying to punish her. The character Hagrid reminds me of me because he stands up for his friends and always treats others the way he wants to be treated, with respect. Hagrid also reminds me of me because he will do anything for his friends. When Hagrid brought Harry to London to buy all of his things for Hogwarts, it reminded me of when my mom takes me to the store or just buys food, clothes, and everything for me and my family. I always try to thank her for everything that she does for me and the family. This situation reminds me of this  because Hagrid is helping Harry the best he can just like my mom does for me.
I loved how the book and the movie are totally different, but still have the same plot line. I also noticed that the movie missed half of the important details and missed half of the events that happened in the book. I do like the book, though, because it gives so much information and detail. Plus it is the genre that I like, which is fantasy. Many people like this book and the whole series so I thought I might try it.
