                                                                        Text to Self: Divergent

     The book i am reading is called Divergent, by Veronica Roth, a story about a 16 year old girl named Beatrice (Tris) who has to chose what faction she is going to be in for the rest of her life. There five different factions Amity, Candor, Dauntless, Erudite, and Abnegation. Tris is not only one faction but two Dauntless and Abnegation which is called Divergent, she will never be able to fit in to one faction. Tris chooses Dauntless which is the most dangerous faction she could choose, because there they will find out what she really is.
     So I went to some of my family members and asked them how I was like Tris and they all said that I was like her because I wouldn't just be one faction I would be a little if everything. We are both loyal to my friends and family and do anything to protect them. 
     When I first started to read the book I wondered what divergent even meant, but now I do. It means to be more than one faction which is dangerous. I think the character I dislike the most is Peter because he is a cowered. Peter was a selfish and foolish person. To me this book teaches me to be brave and stand up for yourself and what you believe in. I noticed when ever one of Tris's friend are in trouble she always wants to help them a make sure they are okay.

                                                          Text to World Connection      Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a book, by J.K. Rowling, that is about a boy named Harry who finds out he is a wizard after 10 years of his life. Then it doesn't help that he has to live with his muggle relatives after his parent are killed by an evil wizard. Though,things do get better once he arrives at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding. While he is there, he meets Ron and Hermione, who become his best friends throughout the year.       The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle is a book about a girl who has unexpected change in he sail home to america for the summer and witness some life changing things. She has to choose who to trust and makes the wrong choice. She was indirectly responsible for two murders, and takes the place of the victims because, the captain after committing the murder made the crew work basically double.      This happens in the real world but usually in much smaller scale. Usually people get fired or die, and people have to take there place in the business. It can also be someone is better and is promoted into someone else's seat. Also people witness murders just like her a lot depending on were you live.      There are many similarities however this was the biggest. Others may include boats, alliances, sailors, and double agents. Murder ocurrs many times in this book and has the most to talk about.
