Text to World- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Text to World Connection
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a book, by J.K. Rowling, that is about a boy named Harry who finds out he is a wizard after 10 years of his life. Then it doesn't help that he has to live with his muggle relatives after his parent are killed by an evil wizard. Though, things do get better once he arrives at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding. While he is there, he meets Ron and Hermione, who become his best friends throughout the year. Plus he learns that he was a hero to the whole wizarding world because this evil wizard that killed his parent could not kill Harry. After learning about his past and making new friends, he learns more and more about the wizarding world.
One problem in the story is that Harry is being bullied by a kid named Draco Malfoy, but the thing is that Draco is nice to him when the teachers are around, so it's like nothing is happening. This problem is similar to the historical event called the Holocaust. These two problem are similar because when the Germans took over the Jews, they were acting like bullies, but the thing is that the Germans acted like nothing was going on and that the Jews were being praised. This problem is similar to a modern problem, which is cyber bullying or just bullying in general. These two problem are similar because just like Draco is bullying Harry, others in our community are being bullied without anyone knowing. Even though this story has witchcraft in it doesn't mean that you can not connect to it to yourself or anything else.
While reading this book I realized how much it can tea h a person. This book taught me that you can be anything you want if you put your heart to it. It also taught me that bullies can be anywhere and anyone. This made me think of how we could stop bullying, but I got no ideas but to stop them right away or tell an adult. The adult will be more than happy to help you in these situations. One character I really dislike in the book is Severese Snape because he does not like Harry and is always being mean to him. There are many things that are going on in the world and most any book can tell us that if we dig deep enough into the book.
