Text to Text: Priness Academy

My book that I'm reading is called Princess Academy written by Shannon Hale. This story is about a twelve year old girl named Miri who is taken to a princess academy along with other girls ages twelve to seventeen in her village. In the academy, the girls will learn to become a princess. After a year, one girl will be chosen to be crowned princess and marry the prince. The girls don't look enjoy it at first, but after a while, they decide to just try their best. Miri studies every night to prove the girls that are mad at her wrong. Miri decides to except the challenges of learning to be princess. When Gerti assumes that Miri was stuck in the closet, she reminds Tutor Olana (the mean lady prepping the girls to be princesses) and almost gets herself into trouble. Soon, after Miri is freed from the closet, she gets closer to Gerti.     When Miri and the girls hike up to the princess academy, I think of when the group of teens in Downriver ...

Text to Text - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Text to Text- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone      Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by J.K. Rowling , is about this boy named Harry and he goes to a wizarding school after he learns that his parents were wizards and that his parents were not killed in a car accident, but by an evil wizard. He makes new friends named Ron and Hermione. Plus he gets sorted into the house of Gryfindor with his new friends. He learns all of the rules and eats as much as he could during the feast that they had to celebrate the newcomers. Then he goes to his house common room to learn everything about the house and then they fall asleep almost instantly. The next day, Harry learns about all of his teachers and about what type of magic they will be learning throughout the year.      The scene that reminds me of some...

Daughter of Dusk Text to Text

I can connect Daughter of Dusk and Wereworld because of the characters and more. Kyra (Daughter of Dusk) and Drew (Wereworld) are both seen as threats, and are able to become a 'were' creature. Kyra is an orphan and was pretty poor as a child, while Drew was taken in by a farm family and didn't find out his real family until later in the book like Kyra. Both of these characters sustain a injury at some point Drew more than Kyra. Another thing is that they both fall in love with someone of higher status and through many struggles end up with that person. The setting of the books are sort of different but the times are similar and  medieval like.

Text to World

Text to World     The book Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper, is about a middle school girl named Melody. Melody has cerebral palsy which doesn't allow her to do may things. She is very kind and smart and now has made the Kidz Quiz team. Rven though she has cerebral palsy , she doesn't allow that to keep her from being a normal child.      The parts of the body are affected by cerebral palsy, the level of serveity and combinations of symptoms can differ from each person.  An other person may have little or no control over their movements or speech and require 24 hour assistance which is what my character Melody needs. Melody is affected by this in ways that she can't keep corrct or cmfy posture, she can't move and she can't eat without assistance. This book connects to real life because there are many people that have this disability and are affected by it every day.      This story teaches me that you shouldn't judge kids by the outsi...

Text to World- Warriors A Dangerous Path

In Warriors- A Dangerous Path  the cat named Fireheart has to keep the clan safe as the traitor Tigerclaw, which is now Tigerstar, has gained leadership of Shadowclan, an enemy clan. Although he does not believe the Shadowclan will attack, Bluestar, the clans leader, orders him to stand guard, and to send off daily search parties through the forest. Fireheart doesn't agree with his leader and thinks that Tigerstar is satisfied, and that he got what he wanted. However he stands in his place and follows orders,Tigerclaw soon starts what appears to Fireheart as  an alliance with Riverclan, which could have them pinned between two enemy clans.  and the clan has a new problem now. Blood thirsty dogs, that want to hunt.      The fact of the dogs escaping the Twoleg's nest (Human house), reminds me of how police send their dogs into dark or puzzling places, to sniff out or hunt down a victim. The problem is also similar to what governments or...

The Big Nate is a great book to read and a funny, it has lost of good and funny stuff...

Text to World Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

The book that I'm reading is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It is about a sixteen year old boy named Jacob Portman who doesn't know just how peculiar he is. Jacob is exploring a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the beat down, old and abandoned home of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores the peeling hallways and the decaying bedrooms, he sees now that it has become clear that the children his grandfather told him in his stories that the children were more than just peculiar, they may have been dangerous.       My book connects to the real world because the peculiar kids aren't accepted by everyone and everyone thinks that they are weird or creepy but really they are just kids who are different and different isn't always a bad thing. Kids from all around the world just want to fit in and especially at school, kids just want to be accepted for who they are and don't want to...

Text To Text: White Giraffe

The White Giraffe   The White Giraffe  is about a young girl named Martine who has to go live with her grandmother after her parents are killed in a terrible fire. Her grandmother lives in Africa on a game reserve, so Martine has to give up her entire life. She arrives on the reserve and finds out her grandmother is a very strict and irritable person. She begins her new life safe, but miserable. One day, she hears a legend about an albino giraffe that is rumored to live on the reserve, but has never been spotted by anyone, but a few people. She looks out her window one night, which overlooks the watering hole, and sees th...

Text to Text - Fablehaven

I am reading Fablehaven. It is about a brother and a sister who have to stay with their grandpa for a while. They learn many secrets about where they are staying and they want to learn more. They find out that their grandpa's preserve is home to many magical things and creatures. They learn how to cope with some creatures and how to get out of different dangerous events to save their grandpa.      I can relate to Fablehaven because there are events that have happened to me such as, having to stay with someone you didn't know that well and going on adventures. I love going on adventures and I try to make everyday one. Fablehaven is full of adventures and I love that about this book.      This book gives you lessons about life. Whether they may be humorous or serious I learn something every chapter. The characters in this book learn different strategies and tricks on how to survive in Fablehaven. This book leaves me wanting to read mo...

Speak-Text to Text

For the past few weeks of reading Speak I have learned about a girl. A girl that finds reality. A girl who finds a way through it. Melinda has had a hard freshman year of high school. She struggles to find friends, get good grades, and even get a long with her teachers. Now in her third marking period her only subject she is good at is art. She failed at gym, math, science, social studies, Spanish, and English. In my previous blog I had said that Melinda found a friend named Heather. Heather started to kind of wander off with her modeling job and completely forgot that she even had a life. What was in her life was Melinda. Now being alone again, she still struggles and needs to find a way to get through life and pass through the bumps in the road. This book reminds me of a movie called mean girls because a girl named Cady is bullied in the beginning of the movie. She only has a limited amount of true friends. A group of popular girls supposedly acts to be her friend and Cady eventu...

Text to Text- Falcon's Egg

Text to Text- Falcon's Egg      It starts off with Falcon finding a dragon egg with no mother around it. Falcon's Egg , written by Luli Gray is a very interesting book. The book starts off with the main character Falcon, walking around the park and she's spots a dragon egg in the grass and she decides to take it home. She has to take care of the egg because if anything bad happens to the egg, it could crack and die. Then through out the rest of the book, she takes care of the baby dragon and watches it grow up.      When Falcon finds the dragon egg, I feel that the egg felt that it was never seen. It connects to A Child Called It because the main character, as a child, felt like he was never seen. His parents also abused him which also made him feel not seen. This is how the books connect to each other.      As I began to read the story, I began to relate it to other stories. I still wonder why the egg was just in the park with ...

Text to Text , "Warriors- A dangerous path"

After Warriors- Rising Storm, I moved on to book five in the Warriors series, Warriors-A Dangerous Path , by Erin Hunter. The book is about the clan finding out the traitor, Tigerclaw,( from the last book, he was caught killing members of his clan, to get what he wanted) is found out to be another clans, Shadowclan's leader after the old one died of sickness. Now the Thunderclan cats are on full alert of any attack placed on their clan, by Shadowclan. Now the clan frets death and loss. Will the clan stand tall, or will they fall?      The scene from Warriors-A Dangerous Path,  where they gather to discuss issues, or help, at fourtrees reminds me of, when the president or other states meet to discuss a certain matter. Cloudpaw, Firehearts jumpy apprentice, reminds me of Natsu Dragneel, from Fairytail . They are both jumpy or excited to do things that they usually do it without thinking, and face the consequences.     I love the way the authors ma...
Text to Text      Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper , is about how a girl named Melody and how she as a disorder from birth that disables her to walk or talk. In the new section I am reading, Melody gets a new devise that allows her to communicate with people and she's making friends. Melody is a smart girl and has made her way on the Kidz Quiz team and is proving herself to other kids.      This character is like Auggie in Wonder because they both are judged by their appearance instead of their personality.  In the book Wonder, Auggie has one true friend named Will and he sticks up for him when kids are being rude and obnoxious. This is similar to Out of My Mind because Melody has rose who is always there for her and sticks up for her when kids are being mean and unkind . Lastly, there is on main similarity in each book. In each book, both main characters, Auggie and Melody, have disabilities that keep them from doing what they want,...

Text to Text- Divergent

I am reading Divergent by Veronica Roth. Divergent is about a girl named Tris (Beatrice) who lives in a world where society is divided into five factions: Dauntless, Amity, Candor, Abnegation, and Erudite. As she turns 16, she has to go through a test called the Aptitude test to show which faction she belongs in. The aptitude test shows that she is divergent. Divergent means that she can't be categorized into one faction and are supposedly "the destruction of society". At the choosing ceremony, she chooses Dauntless, the brave, but she has to survive through initiation without her leaders finding out she's divergent. Her instructor Four, also divergent, guides her through initiation to survive and also leads up to a relationship that neither of them expected to have.       Tris from the book, Divergent, reminds me of everybody. Everybody has different traits and can't be fit into one characteristic. Four, Tris's instructor reminds of my friends,...

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix-Text to Text

The book I am reading is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K Rowling .What I have read so far is Harry and his friends start their first classes for the start of term.Ron,Hermione, and Harry are loaded with homework. They got to their Defense Against the Dark Arts and she doesn't believe that Harry fought the dark lord aka Lord Voldemort and gives Harry week of detention. The Gryffindor Quidditch team is looking for a new keeper and Harry will have to miss the tryouts Ron decide to tryout and made it because he is Harry's friend.Harry's detention is going awful because she makes him write lines and every time he writes the words crave into his hands and leave Harry with horrible bruises. While at Quiddditch practice is going horrible because Ron is making the team look bad.And that's what I have read so far.        This scene reminds me of a similar scene in Divergent because in Harry Potter you are placed in a house based on how you are seen...

Breaking Dawn vs Hunger Games

The book Breaking Dawn and Hunger Games are very similar.  Both books are very popular among teens and young adults. In  The book Breaking Dawn the characters go through a series of obstacles in order to find happiness at the end of the book.  The obstacles include three vicious vampires,  The unsettling birth of a vampire baby,  and the Volturi. In the book the hunger games the characters also go through a series of obstacles in order to find happiness and some sort of peace. These obstacles include the first hunger games and the second hunger games, going into hiding,  rescuing their friends from President Snow,  and killing two of their leaders. In both books the characters all feel pain and eventually come to find joy.

Text to Text

Text to Text: Divergent      I am reading the book divergent by Veronica Roth. This book is about a wold divided into 5 different factions, Abnegation (the selflessness), Erudite (the intelligent), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Candor (the honest). When the day comes, 16 year old Beatrice has to take a test called "the aptitude test", she learns that her results were "inconclusive" which means she is Divergent. To all the factions divergent is dangerous. When the day of the choosing ceremony comes Tris chooses Dauntless. There she learns that she can manipulate the simulations, which is dangerous because they might find out her secret. Four, who is also divergent helps Tris learn to get through the simulations without manipulating them. Later, they find out that the...

Text to Text- Hitler's Secret

Hitler's Secret       Lately, in my book Hitler's Secret  written by, William Osbourne, I have found out the name of the spies chosen for a mission to save a little girl in Europe. Otto and Leni were sent off by the Great Britain to help a little girl named, Anjelika, make it safely back to Europe, Otto and Leni are unsure who this girl is or why Master MacPherson needs her, but they took the job to go back. After landing in Europe these two teenagers set off beginning this dangerous journey to save Anjelika. They encounter three big obstacles, one being Leni having to fight a nun to "rescue" Anjelic, Otto gets caught by Adolf Hitler while visiting his past home before the Holocaust had began, and right now i am at the part where Otto, Leni, and Anjelika are on a train back to Great Britain when a lady gaurd comes on the bus and starts attacking them with questions. In the mean time Europe guards are looking for Anjelika, and it turns out that the guard who was ...

Text to Text -The Red Pyramid

The Red Pyramid      The Red  Pyramid is the first book in The Kane chronicles  by Rick R iordan . The  Red  Pyramid is  about to kids of the Kane family who are capital of hosting Egyptian gods. The god Set is the chaos god and he wants to destroy the world. The Kane family , Carter and Sally, want to live so they go and save the world. But have to fight magician and chaos to do it.      Sally Kane is like Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians because they both help and love their companies. Carter Kane is like Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians because they both daring and leader-ish people. Also the story take place in the same time  period  and both story are using god from B.C. time.      I dislike Set because if he wants to be king of the gods he can easily just challenge the king and if he wins he will become king. I don't get why he has to com...

Text to Text-Divergent

Text to Text                        So, the adventures continue for Tris in the first book of the series, Divergent.  During initiation, Tris begins to fall in love with another divergent named Tobias, who also transferred from Abnegation. Tobias, who is also called Four, helps Tris learn how to survive initiation while still keeping their divergence a secret. After barely making it through all the simulations and, all the Dauntless leaders watching and ranking her, Tris is ranked first at the end of initiation! Good, right? Well not exactly, especially when the leaders inject all the members with a serum that will control them to do something, but what ? The next day, Tris wakes up to see that everyone is doing the same thing, at the same exact time. She tries to copy them the ...

Text to Text- Matched

Matched -Text To Text By: Rebekah Rolfe       Matched , by Ally Condie is about a girl named Cassie. Cassie is a 17 year old girl who lives in a place where the government decides your life choices. They decide who you love, where you work, and when you die. Cassie has come to the age where the officials choose who she gets married to. She was so happy that she was matched with her best friend, Xander. But, Cassie comes to relize that she doesn't think that Xander is her perfect match and starts to fall for someone else. At this time of difficulty and stress her Grandpa dies and she is faced with the impossible question of who she truly desires to marry.        The book Matched  reminds me so much of the series, The Hunger Games  because of the characters in the books. Cassie reminds me of Katniss Everdeen because they both are trying to figure out who they really love and want to marry. Ky reminds me of Peeta because they both are th...

Text To Text- Catching Fire

I'm reading Catching Fire  by Suzanne Collins. It's an amazing book. The details are fantastic and make you want to read more. In the beginning of the book Katniss is visited by President Snow. Snow told Katniss that he knew that their "love story" was fake and that the capital and some districts may believe it but he doesn't. He want's them to make him believe it. After Snows talk with her, Katniss was determined to make Snow believe that their love story was real. Later that day Peeta and Katniss ( the winners ) went on the victor tour around the districts to pay their respects to the fallen tributes. During the talk Snow gave Katniss, he mentioned something about a rebellion happening and Katniss is starting to see that signs. President Snow is noticing how bad the rebellion is starting to be and remembers that it's the Third Quarter Quell.       Catching Fire reminds me of The Maze Runner. The reason why it reminds me of The ...

Text to Text Ms Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

The book I'm reading is Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children and it is about a sixteen year old Jacob Portman who doesn't know how peculiar he his. He  grew up listening to his grandfather tell him stories of living on an island in a children's home where each child had  a supernatural ability of some sort. As he got older he stopped believing his grandfathers stories, but still has a close relationship with him who seemed to get crazier and worried each day as he said the monsters were lurking in the woods waiting to kill him. Jacob didn't believe him and thought he forgot to take his medicine. One day Grandpa Portman is killed by a mysterious creature in the woods. Jacob sets out on a mission to uncover the meaning behind his grandfathers last words and learn at last about his grandfathers past.          Jacob Portman reminds me of scientists because Jacob is trying to find out what is grandfathers past is like and ...

Text to Text- The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle

The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle is a book by Avi about a little girl from America sailing home for the summer aboard the Seahawk, a ship with a crew planning on betraying the captain. Both the captain and the crew say each other are rather bad people and miss Doyle doesn't know who to trust. Everyone tells a convincing story but making the choice will have tremendous impact for good or bad reason.      This book is a lot like The Westing Game , a book about a mistery of murder, the victim made a game for money and gave teams clues. This book is a lot like  The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle because there is mystery. Both of the books have at least one character who is in a mystery and has groups of people who they can choose to trust, some one ends up being bad and lying to win trust, this results in something bad happening. in The Westing Game this happens at much larger scale, every character playing a role is double than this book. ...

Text to Text- Paper Towns

Paper Towns , by John Green, is about a daring young girl named Margo and her neighbor/childhood friend/secret admirer, Quentin.  Margo Roth Spiegelman is known for running away from home and leaving clues for her family to find her, but this time, she left clues for Quentin. Before she "went missing," Margo came through Quentin's window one night asking for a ride. He didn't know it yet, but that would be the best night of his life. His main job was to drive Margo around town in his mom's Chrysler minivan for her to complete the eleven parts of her plan of revenge. She gets revenge on some people that wronged her by vandalizing the cars and property of her cheating boyfriend, and everybody connected to him. Margo disappears after that night, leaving clues for Quentin to find her. Her parents are more aggravated than worried, because Margo often disappears. It has been four days and Margo isn't back home in Orlando, which is unusual for her, so now it is...

Text to Text- WONDER STRUCK

Text to Text                                                        Wonder Struck      The story I had just begun is called Wonder Struck  by  Brian Selznick .  What's so creative about this story is that there are two stories being told at the same time.  One story is being told by words while the other is being told by sketches.  Today, I am going to talk about Ben's story, the story that is being told by words.  Ben is a boy that is deaf in one ear.  He lives with his cousin, Robby, and Aunt Jenny.  This story takes place in Gunflint, Minnesota, 1977.  His mother had died three months before J...

Text To Text: The Book Theif

Imagine hiding someone in your basement, but if anyone finds out about it you could die or be tortured. That is the feeling Liesle from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak  . She has lost her mother and brother and she had never met her dad. She now has to live with her foster parents Hans and Rosa Hubermann. She steals her first book from her brothers graveside, then from the Nazi;s book-burning, then the mayors wife , and where every they are to be found. In these times there was little money and food yet Liesel's foster parent took in a Jew, even though they knew the consequence.      Rosa and Hans bravery reminds me of a character in The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman. Jan and Antonina use their zoo to put Jews in an abandoned animal habitats and hide them from the Nazi's, who want them dead. Both characters know the danger of what their doing, but do it to save the lives of others. Jan and Antonina saved 500 Jewish lives, and you can st...

Text to Self- Falcon's Egg

Text to Self- Falcon's Egg      Have you ever read Falcon's Egg ? Well if you haven't, you should! Falcon's Egg was written by Luli Gray  in 1995. The main character, Falcon, reminds me of myself a lot. She had to take care of the dragon egg. I also had to take care of my pet fish I had when I was younger. Falcon found the egg in a park. Also when I was younger, I found a lost dog at the park.      Overall, this is a pretty solid book and I advise you to read this. The character I admire the most is Falcon because she cares so much for her family and friends. This books lesson is to c...

Text to Self White Needle / Phantom Sun

Text to Self     The book White Needle / Phantom Sun by Carl Bowen is about a team ,shadow squad, which go on secret missions for the United States. White needle is about the team going in and investigating a chemical weapon that is in the rough hands could kill millions. Phantom Sun is where shadow squad go and recover  an object that landed in in the North Pole. Also they find a"tech" genus assigned to their group from the U.S.A.     The book White Needle / Phantom Sun reminded me of me when I was a kid I thought I could be a secret spy that would go on secret missions to the store. Then I would steal to idem and go to the black market, the cashier, and give the item and they put it in a travel kit with other items. To cover my escape. This story was for when I was little and it relates to White Needle / Phantom Sun by having important secret mission that can change the world. When I was a kid the world was not that big. ...

Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone - Text to self

Text to Self      Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, a book by J.K. Rowling , is about a boy named Harry Potter who has to live with his cruel relatives because his parents died in an accident. This was no ordinary accident, though, Harry's parents died when an evil wizard killed them, but Harry did not die when this wizard tried to kill him. In fact, Harry made this wizard weak instead of dying and making him stronger. This wizard is You-Know-Who, or also known as Voldemort and he was once one of the most powerful wizards ever, besides Dumbledore. Dumbledore is the head of the Hogwarts School For Wizards. Since Harry has been living with his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin, he did not know until recently in the book that he and his pa...

Text to Self- The Girl Who Owned a City

I am reading T he Girl Who Owned a City   by O.T. Nelson is a story about a girl named Lisa who is trying to survive through a killing virus that killed all adults. All children under the age of 12 weren't affected by the virus. Lisa and her brother Todd are one of those children that weren't affected. Lisa is running a city where there is lots of food and protection in exchange for trust and work. Later in the story, Lisa's city called Glenbard is being taken over my Tom Logan. Lisa is fighting and making a plan on getting back her city to the happy and safe place it was before.           This reminds me of a similar situation that happened to me. It happened to me when somebody on my team to my spot as a flyer for competition. She took my spot because I wasn't paying attention and she got the skill before I did. I made a plan to completely shut her down and get my spot back. I eventually got the skill she had and then I got a ...

Text to Self-Daughter of Dusk

My book is the Daughter of Dusk, and it's about an ex-assassin\thief named Kyra who is a half blood Makvani. She has to choose between her bloodlines, and is trying to fix a few problems arising. This is a Midnight Thief book by Livia Blackburne I can relate to Kyra because I sometimes have to make difficult choices that may affect me or someone else whether its good or bad. She lets her anger take over and kills a noble and hurts his brother, her close friend finds her and she is forced to flee the city and become a wanted criminal. This reminds me that letting your anger control your actions and you later regretting it and having to deal with the consequences. The nobles she killed and injured are also the ones that majorly hurt her close friend that is like her little sister. Lettie, Kyra's close friend/adopted sister (sister of girl that got beat up) was worried for her sister, and I can relate to being worried if my family was hurt. To me not much has happened in the bo...

Text to self- Hunger Games

My book is  The Hunger Games  by Suzanne Collins and it is part of a series. In my book Katniss is sent off to the Hunger Games to fight to the death with 24 other tributes. Katniss is the "mom" of her family because her dad died from an explosion in the mines so her mom is in a state of depression. Her sister Prim got called for the reaping and Katniss volunteered for her sister. Soon Katniss is sent into the arena and is staying out of the fighting. Katniss killed two tributes with tracker jackers and one tribute with her arrow because he killed her friend Rue. The Game Makers have just announced that two tributes from the same district are allowed to win.      Katniss reminds me of a friend I had. My friends mom wasn't the best and she had to take care of her and her little brother. Her dad died so she was left with her brother and mom. Katniss also reminds me of me. My parents are usually busy and my oldest sister always working. Even t...

Text to Self: Divergent

Text to Self                       I have begun to read Divergent by Veronica Roth. This book is about the adventures of a young 16 year old girl deciding the rest of her life based on a aptitude test that will see where she belongs. Her life gets turned upside down when she gets the results. This story takes place in what used to be Chicago, but is now a Dystopian world divided into five factions. Amity, the peaceful, Candor, the honest, Erudite, the intelligent, Abnegation, the selfless, and Dauntless, the brave. When Beatrice Prior, the main character, goes to take the test, she can't help but wonder what her results will be. The "test" should actually be called a torture simulation. A serum controlled by a person recording what's happening puts you through a series of situations that will help determine what faction you b...

An evil enchantress has made multiple attempts to take over the entire fairy tale world and is succeeding. When the two twins, Alex and Conner hear word of this, their first instinct is to go back through their portal and reunite with their old friends they had met in their previous journey.         The character...

Text To Self- Speak

Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, is a story about a young girl named Melinda was getting bullied for simply doing the right thing and calling the cops at a house party (I haven't gotten to what the situation was). It is her freshman year of high school and it has already started off badly. Kids are making fun of her for being a goody, a snitch, and even by the way she dresses. She lost her best friend Rachel who has now became a "popular and cocky cheerleader", hates her teachers, and has no one there to help or support her. Later in the story she finds a friend named Heather who really isn't at the top of the charts either, and start to hang out. She sits with her at lunch and sticks with her most of the time at school. Nothing's changed. They decided to go to a football game..pep rally. Something she's always wanted to do, but definitely not at that school. Once the get there, Heather pulls them directly into the freshman section, which she didn't want t...

Peter Pan: J.M Barrie

Text to self           The book that I'm reading, Peter Pan by J.M Barrie. The book is about a young 12 year old boy named Peter Pan who refuses to grow up. He pays a visit to Wendy, Micheal, and John darling. With the help of his little friend Tinker Bell, Peter takes them on a magical ride to where Peter lives...... Neverland . Peter Pan introduces them to his loyal friends, Tink, The lost boys, Tiger Lily and her native American Tribe, and the "dangerous" captain Hook that has the intent of defeating Peter Pan as he is trying to escape the tick-tocking  crocodile that once ate Hook's hand that Peter Pan cut off and fed it to the crocodile.          Peter Pan reminds me of police officers and fire fighters because he is very brave and will fight for the ones he loves. Wendy reminds me of me because when she very first met Peter Pan she was unsure if she could trust him but once she got to know who he really is she knew that sh...

Text to Self-Hunger Games

Text to Self-Hunger Games      Have you ever been scared to do something, I know I have. In the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, a boy and a girl from each of the 12 districts gets picked from a jar to compete in the annual Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a brutal, barbaric fight to the death. These tributes have to go through a series of conferences and talk shows to try to earn sponsors, by doing this they better their chances of survival in the Games. The main characters are Katniss and Peeta two once average teens now having to fend for their own lives.      Katniss doesn't remind me of anyone in particular, but when she steps up in place of her sister, I thought to myself would I do the same, the answer is yes. This character reminds me of me because I get scared in a lot of situations, for example before a huge wrestling match I sometimes get really nervous. Katniss going to the hunger games reminds me of a similar situation in myth...

Sample Title       I am reading Hitler's Secret , written by William Osborn. Hitler's Secret is a novel about the World War 1, so far i have read about a boy, who is German running away from England to escape to Europe, then the boat the boy was trying to escape on got bombed. After the boat got bombed the people on the boat were rushed to Europe and a girl was helping with transferring blood donation packets. Late in the book, the admiral, MacPherson, wanted to find spies to go back to England and find out information of Hitler's plan. The girl and boy ended up being picked as the spies, later in the book the boy and girl accept the spy job and were secretly named Otto and Leni.        I would say I can relate to the book through the characters. Leni and I are a lot alike because we can get caught up in boy business easily and it can easily start drama, in the book Otto and Leni are fake brother and sister for the spy act and she seems really ann...
