Text to World: S a v v y

                                                               S a v v y

The book I am reading right now is called Savvy by Ingrid Law.  This story is about a girl in the Beaumont family, named Mibs, whom was about to turn thirteen.  What so strange about the Beaumonts is that they get magical powers called savvies when they turn thirteen. One day, Mibs' mom got a call that wasn't pleasant; their father was hurt in a car crash and was now in the Selina Hospital.  Living in between Nebraska and Kansas made Mib's know that the Selina Hospital was far away.  On the day before her birthday, Miss Rosemary invited Fish, Samson and Mibs to celebrate Mibs' Birthday with Bobbi and Will, her children, at the Hebron Church.  Fish, Mibs, and Samson knew that they can't celebrate in public because she might receive her savvy early.  Miss Rosemary told Mibs that she would invite tons of people, and that's what she did.  On the day of her birthday, Mibs woke up with her little sister, Gypsy, whom was wide awake when she would always be asleep.  Mibs suddenly knew one thing... she had discovered her savvy.  After getting ready for her biggest day, she, Samson, and Fish went to the Hebron Church to celebrate.  As they arrived, she remembered that her father was still in the hospital.  She knew one thing for sure... she could wake up her papa.
The part when they were in the basement of the diner and realized they were on TV missing is similar to a situation in our world because when people are missing, they are on the news, just like Fish, Bobbi, Will, Mibs, and Samson.  I really liked this book because it was a creative way of telling it, and I just thought it was super neat.
I love the way it was kind of like Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children because everyone had their own special ability and magical power to interact with one another.  I can't believe Will kissed Mibs in the pool, even though he is eighteen years old when Mibs is only thirteen!  That's crazy!  I was surprised that Lill got fired from the diner.  It just wasn't worth it!  I thought this book was just amazing, and I suggest you should read it!
